Ponte de Lima, 16 - 21 July 2008
Music, landscape and history in Portugal's northwest corner
Opera and chamber music in the charming setting of Ponte de Lima, with its well-preserved historic bridge and town centre, its relaxed restaurants and bars, all within easy walking distance.
This region of northern Portugal is one of the most unspoilt and undiscovered corners of Europe.
Visits include Guimarães, birthplace of the Portuguese nation and Brufe, situated on the edge of Portugal’s only national park, with its breathtaking panoramic vistas.
Also included is port tasting at Taylor's, one of the most famous port lodges and still run independently as a family firm by descendants of the original partners who founded it over three hundred years ago.
