About Sharonarts
Sharon Kivity MA has been running her arts and cultural business since 1988. The two complementary strands to Sharonarts - cultural tour programmes and consultancy for arts ensembles and festivals - enhance and enrich each other.
I have a passion for the arts and for opera and classical music in particular. So it seemed a natural thing to focus on these two aspects of my work by running cultural tours and also offering arts management services.
I’ve led cultural tours in Europe and sometimes further afield. These have focused on opera, chamber music, winetasting, theatre, history of art or archaeology, often combining many or all of these aspects.
My priorities are good music in interesting places; pleasant, tasteful accommodation; delicious food and quality wine. I design the itinerary myself and personally accompany groups, thus ensuring a continuity of service from inception to delivery. My tours tend to focus on lesser-known areas within a familiar country. For example, many people have visited France and Portugal but relatively few have discovered the delights of Picardy or northern Portugal.
On the arts management side, I have set up a conference at Tate Britain, initiated major projects at London’s Barbican and Southbank and in Vienna’s Natural History Museum. I specialise in fundraising, marketing and strategic planning and have also directed several festivals. I feel proud to be associated with some remarkable artists and my priority is to offer them a personalised and committed service.
In 2008, it’s a particular pleasure to combine the two aspects of my work by offering a tour to Portugal where the London Bridge Ensemble, which I manage, is the resident chamber music group at a splendid music festival.
Here's a recent article about how the two strands of Sharonarts merged in unexpected ways.
